Reflect and Grow: January
Happy New Year, everyone! January has definitely been a busy month, but I’m grateful for all of the little business adventures I’ve already experienced. With that said, let’s get into it.
Reflecting on This Past Month
Social Media Visibility
One of my main focuses this month was increasing my social media visibility. I finally made my first few TikToks (and if you’ve been here for a while, you know I’ve been procrastinating on that 😅). I’ll admit—it wasn’t nearly as scary as I built it up to be in my head. I’m still getting used to filming content while I’m out and about, but I’m proud of myself for finally taking the leap. If you haven’t checked out my TikTok yet, I’ll be sure to link it here.
In addition to TikTok, I’ve also been more consistent with posting on Instagram. I’ve learned that choosing the last Saturday of the month to create and schedule content for the upcoming month makes everything feel far more manageable. Having that system in place has been a game-changer.
Although I’m still early in my content creation journey, I’ve already gained a few followers organically, and some people have even bookmarked my content. Those small wins have kept me curious, encouraged, and motivated to continue improving and finding my content niche.
Networking, Networking, and More Networking!
Beyond social media, I’ve also been intentional about networking and putting myself in more entrepreneurial spaces. This month, I attended Local First AZ’s business mixer at The Duce in downtown Phoenix, and it was such a great experience. There were so many entrepreneurs from different industries, and the energy in the room was inspiring.
For those who are new here, I’ve been a member of Local First AZ for about a year. Last year, I didn’t fully take advantage of everything the organization offers, but this year, I’m being intentional about utilizing my resources and leaning into community.
I also attended another networking event this month that felt much more intimate and cutesy. I actually found out about it through TikTok and decided to take a leap of faith and register. I’m so glad I did.
The event, PowerPoint and Prosecco, was hosted by Makayla and Paloma and held at Flash Haus, a photo studio in Mesa, Arizona. Each attendee created a short PowerPoint deck about their business and asked questions they wanted honest feedback on. This approach made networking feel more personal, and I walked away with genuine insight from other women who are also navigating entrepreneurship.
If you’re local to Arizona and need an aesthetic space to shoot or record content, I highly recommend checking out Flash Haus.
Opportunities for Growth
Even with how busy January was, I made sure to carve out time for reflection. There’s definitely room for growth in content creation, specifically in finding a consistent posting rhythm that feels sustainable.
As for networking, I want to continue increasing my visibility by attending a variety of networking events throughout the year. January felt like a strong start, and I’m aiming to attend three to four events in February.
Looking Ahead
January started off booked and busy, and I’m hopeful that I can carry this momentum into February. One of my goals for this month was to improve brand visibility, and I’m proud of myself for taking intentional steps toward that goal.
In February, my focus will shift more toward prospecting ideal clients and exploring collaboration opportunities.
Thank you for being here and following along on this journey. You can now catch even more behind-the-scenes moments on both Instagram and TikTok.
I’ll be back next month with the next installment.
Xx,
Annie
